Barbara started painting in oil in 1985 in Sarasota, Florida until she discovered the beauty of watercolor. She is hooked on this medium as she enjoys the variety of techniques, the fresh look, and the freedom of the water with pigments, which excites her inner being.

Barbara has lived in Ona, West Virginia for nearly 2 decades. After years of classes and workshops, she is mostly attracted to the wet on wet style. Barbara tries to portray mood and light in all of her paintings. Landscapes and flowers are her favorite subjects to paint in her expressive, impressionistic style along with some realism.

She was the Second Vice President of the Tri-State Arts Association and chairperson for the Huntington Museum of Art/ TSAA Biennial Exhibition of 2004, 2006, and 2008. Along with Barbara's current TSAA board reponsiibilites, she pursues her watercolor passion, hosts an annual photography show,  manages her 25 member gallery, teaches weekly watercolor classes, and conducts workshops in the tri-state region. Barbara also teaches watercolor for beginners and intermediates at Hobby Lobby in Barboursville, West Virginia twice a month. Contact Barbara to register.

Barbara has been a member of WVWS for a year. She sold a painting, My Chinese Lanterns, at the All Members Show in Parkersburg, West Virginia in 2011.
